Congress is considering bipartisan bills, in both the House and Senate, aimed at combating the hate-filled Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement. The bill is authored in the Senate by Sens. Rob Portman (R-OH) and Ben Cardin (D-MD), and the in the House by Reps. Peter Roskam (R-IL) and Juan Vargas (D-CA).
This important piece of legislation fights back against international organizations, such as the UN, that promote efforts to isolate and delegitimize Israel. The bill would extend current anti-boycott laws, which currently target state-sponsored boycotts against Israel, and applies them to international organizations.
This bill will send an unmistakable signal that America rejects that hatred and bigotry of the BDS movement.
