The Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat anti-Semitism Act of 2017 (H.R. 1911 and S. 198) would bring new attention to the importance of combating global anti-Semitism within the Department of State through a range of measures, including elevating the Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism to the position of Ambassador reporting directly to the Secretary of State.
With recent surges in global anti-Semitism, it is clear that the U.S. must continue to lead the effort to combat this hateful and dangerous ideology. This bill sends an important message that combating anti-Semitism is a priority for the U.S.
IAC for Action strongly supports this bill and hopes that Congress will act to ensure its swift passage into law.
