Las Vegas, Nev. — Today Dillon Hosier, the IAC for Action’s National Director of State Government Affairs, joined Nevada Lieutenant Governor Mark Hutchison and other representatives of the pro-Israel community to announce the introduction of legislation in the Nevada State Senate that will counter the discriminatory environment fostered by the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) Movement. The legislation, which will be introduced as Senate Bill 26, is similar to measures that have passed in other states, including the California Combating BDS Act of 2016, which the IAC for Action championed in a major advocacy campaign last year.

“We have a unique opportunity in the coming legislative session to send a powerful message that the hateful and discriminatory environment fostered by BDS has no place in Nevada,” said IAC for Action Chairman Shawn Evenhaim. “The IAC for Action is grateful to Lieutenant Governor Mark Hutchison and the State legislators of Nevada for their courageous leadership on this issue.”

“We look forward to working with Nevada’s people, policymakers and civic organizations to advocate for this important legislation so that it is signed into law next year,” said Neville Pokroy, the Chair of the IAC for Action Government Relations Committee in Las Vegas. “The Israeli-American community is engaged and organized like never before. By uniting with the whole community in Nevada, we can make a big difference in the fight against hate and discrimination.”
